Ditzel Lounge Chair

Designed by

Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel

1953

Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel's lounge chair is characterised by the way it embraces the sitter in circular strokes and acknowledges simple, closed forms. The chair is conceived three-dimensionally in continuous curves. The intersections of curves and lines are carefully considered to create a chair that work visually from all sides and adapts to the human form with grace and comfort. This is clearly evident in the Ditzel Lounge chair. The body-friendly upholstery and curved shapes express both visual and physical comfort.
