Sisu

Designed by

Nanna Ditzel

1965

Sisu was a part of the extensive textile collection which Nanna designed for Halling-Koch in 1965. It is a thicker variant of Hallingdal, but whereas Hallingdal is woven in a blend of wool and viscose that has a special capacity to hold strong colours, Sisu is woven of 99% wool and 1% nylon.
It is currently curated by artist Danh Vo, who discovered the design in the Kvadrat archives and chose it for an exhibition at Denmark’s National Gallery (SMK) entitled ‘Take My Breath Away’.
Relaunched 2021.
